Alexander Adkins, Ph.D.

Dr. Alexander Adkins, earned his Ph.D. in English from Rice University in 2016. Alex’s scholarship focuses on African satirical literature from the 1960s onward, but in recent years he has become passionate about teaching film from across the globe to audiences of all backgrounds and levels of preparation. In the middle of the pandemic, Alex returned to Houston Heights to raise his two young daughters alongside his wife, a Houston local.
