Ana Otero

Ana M. Otero is a Law Professor at Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, where she teaches Civil Procedure, Evidence, and a Death Penalty seminar. Professor Otero joined the faculty of Thurgood in 1998. Before teaching law in Houston, she served as Chief of Staff for the Municipal Courts. Later she was appointed to serve as an associate judge, which she held for almost a decade. Before moving to Houston, she practiced law in the civil litigation division of Blackwell Walker in Miami, Florida. Professor Otero earned her J.D. from Rutgers University and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She also received a Master’s degree from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University and a B.A. from Columbia University where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Cum Laude.
