Jim Parsons is the Programs Director for Preservation Houston and is a native of Baytown. Preservation Houston, founded in 1978, is Houston’s only citywide nonprofit historic preservation advocacy and education organization. Jim puts his lifelong interest in local history and architecture to work coordinating programs and educational outreach for Preservation Houston, including architectural walking tours, video tours and lectures. Jim has co-authored and photographed several books on Art Deco architecture in Texas, including Houston Deco: Modernistic Architecture of the Texas Coast, and he has written about and photographed cities across the United States.
