2024 Election Crossroads: Unveiling America's Political Chessboard
In November 2024, the political landscape of the United States will see significant contention as the White House, the U.S. Senate, and the U.S. House are up for grabs. The outcome of the presidential election will decide whether Kamala Harris or Donald Trump becomes the next president, with the focus narrowing to less than 10 battleground states. Similarly, control of the U.S. Senate hinges on fewer than 10 pivotal races, including the closely watched contest in Texas between Senator Ted Cruz (R) and Representative Colin Allred (D). Additionally, approximately 40 U.S. House districts, including two in Texas, will determine the balance of power in the House chamber. This context sets the stage for a comprehensive examination of the political, social, and economic backdrop against which these elections unfold.
This course will focus on the intricacies of key races that hold the fate of Washington D.C.'s leadership in the balance for 2025. Furthermore, it will offer insights into the competitive landscape of state legislative and county-level races in Texas, spanning the Houston region and beyond.
