Is Chivalry Dead?

Wil McCorquodale, Ph.D.

Even today, the term chivalry brings forth ideal images of knights in shining armor fighting against villains to maintain their honor and to rescue damsels in distress. Join historian Wil McCorquodale for an examination of the social and cultural systems that infused the aristocracy’s values during the medieval period. We will address what social conditions influenced chivalry and how religion and political developments played an important role in creating the ethos of chivalry. Chivalry has cast a long shadow and is influential even today.
