Creative Writing ( May 2 - May 30)

Anna Mebel

This is a writing class that welcomes all genres—whether you’re working on a novel, writing an essay about an intense moment in your life, or wondering what it takes to write a poem that encapsulates a rare moment of beauty. Each class will center on a widely applicable craft topic—imagery, voice, character, narrative structure, manipulation of time, and revision.

"We will study those craft topics as they appear in published works, and I will provide a variety of prompts to either give you ideas for new writing projects or enliven works in progress. I will encourage students to read their work out loud, so we can provide feedback as a class. If that’s not something you feel comfortable with, I will also give you written feedback on one to two pages of writing for each class session." - Anna Mebel

This is a limited enrollment class.
