Chase Untermeyer, who helped the first President Bush make many hundreds of appointments to top government jobs, is especially knowledgeable on “presidential personnel.” This lecture will answer several questions: Who gets these jobs? How do they get them? What about Senate confirmation? And, once in office, how do they deal with the bureaucracy, congressional oversight committees, the press, interest groups, and the public?
