This course will be a continuation of the “Beginning French” class and will utilize the same textbook and workbook, however attendance in the first class is not a prerequisite. This is an immersion class with the goal of getting you speaking as quickly as possible. Many people find that even if they have taken French language classes in the past, they did very little speaking. In our classes, you will cover the four elements of learning a language successfully: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

The method used is Alter Ego +1, which is based on the “communicative approach”. This method is well-rounded with exposure to reading, writing, and grammar, but the primary focus is placed on oral communication. It is the most often used method for adult French language learners around the world, and consists of a textbook (Alter Ego +1), workbook (Cahier d'Activités), and a listening CD (Hachette Publishing).
