After serving for 31 years in the U. S. Department of State as a Foreign Service Officer (Santa Domingo, Seoul, Dublin, and Nassau), Assistant Director of Houston Passport Agency and an Information Systems Security Officer, Eric Botts retired to work in the private sector and is currently Director of Global Cyber Security Program in the Department of International Studies and Modern Languages at St. Thomas University; as well as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Houston Downtown.

In this lecture Mr. Botts will do a deep dive into the emerging geopolitical landscape, focusing on the most immediate concerns that will challenge American policymakers in maintaining peace and stability and furthering our national interests. He will also take into account the change of focus of the Biden administration and how this will impact the response of the international community.
