Intermediate Spanish

Marcela Salas, Ph.D.

This course is designed to further develop writing, speaking, reading, and listening in Spanish by building on what you have learned in beginning Spanish classes to reach greater proficiency and precision. It offers students the opportunity to expand their vocabulary, improve their grammatical accuracy, begin to speak and write in paragraph length, and gain a greater cultural understanding of the Spanish-speaking world. During the ten weeks we will focus on communication goals and structure such as: descriptions, comparisons, reactions, recommendations, likes and dislikes, the future, etc. Learning new vocabulary, narrating in all verb tenses, and constructing conditional sentences are the main goals to become an independent speaker and rise to the advanced level.

Students will purchase the textbook Imagina (any edition published by Vista Higher Learning) to accompany this course.

*Prerequisite: At least two classes of beginning Spanish or short placement test.

*This is a limited enrollment class
