KNOW YOUR RIGHTS NOW: Protection, Preparedness, & Your Options for Relief

Ruby L. Powers

This session combines essential “Know Your Rights” guidance with up-to-date information on how immigration enforcement and detention are currently operating. We’ll review what to do if you encounter ICE, what your rights are during questioning or arrest, and how to stay protected. We will also cover how to prepare a family safety plan, including organizing important documents, identifying a trusted contact, and discussing Power of Attorney and caregiver authorization for children. In addition, we will explain current avenues for immigration relief, recent trends in asylum and detention, and what these changes may mean for individuals and families. The goal is to provide clear, realistic information that empowers our community to stay informed, prepared, and protected.
