Second Act: The Power of Broadway Revivals | October 21
With Broadway’s triumphant post-pandemic comeback, what better time to take a look at some of the past and current revivals of the celebrated musicals that have graced the Great White Way? From daring updates to gender-bending casting and buzzworthy revivals like Cats, Oklahoma!, and West Side Story, discover what keeps Broadway evolving. We will investigate how directors revise shows to make them more relevant to the values of today's world. This class will include stars that made their names in revivals - Kristen Chenoweth, Nathan Lane, Faith Prince, Kelli O'Hara - as well as comparisons of stars who brought their own special talents to the same role, such as Patti Lupone, Bernadette Peters and Angela Lansbury as Rose in Gypsy. A must for any theater lover!
