Something in the Air! What Really Happened in the Sixth Century BCE (Online Course)

Seymour Rossel

The Sixth Century BCE began on the first day of 600 BCE and ended on the last day of 501 BCE. That’s a fact. But something mysterious and wondrous was afoot in this particular 100 years. In one century, early Greek thinkers revved up the engine of Greek philosophy, masterful biblical prophets like Jeremiah and Ezekiel envisioned a future for their exiled Judean nation, Zoroaster ignited a movement that enflamed the Persian Empire, Buddha’s message revivified the ancient pagan religion of Hinduism, Lao Tse pointed the way of the Tao, and Confucius single-handedly pioneered a religion of legalism (possibly inventing the fortune cookie, too!).

Our survey will last six sessions in two independent parts, but the atmosphere of the Sixth Century BCE will be yours forever after. Come and join Seymour Rossel on a rollercoaster of ancient world revelations.
