Trends in Translational Medicine

Maia Larios

Many of the diagnostic tests and therapy options that are currently available for patients are the result of scientific research that happens in research labs, way before they are safely vetted for use in humans. In the last decade, scientists and health professionals have made a concerted effort to bridge what happens in the lab with what happens in the clinic – an approach known as translational medicine (also referred to as “bench-to-bedside” science). The result of this effort is an exciting pace of progress in the detection, prevention, and treatment of human disease. Join us to discuss some of the latest and most exciting trends in translational medicine research – some of which is happening right here in Houston.

This class will be held onsite at WIH and simulcast via Zoom.
