Winning the Latino Vote

Brandon Rottinghaus

For decades, the Latino vote has been described as a “sleeping giant.” Both parties have attempted to wake this constituency, and, as the Latino vote grows in importance with each election cycle, these goals are magnified. But what drives the Latino vote? Drawing on surveys of the Texas Latino electorate from the 2016, 2020, and 2022 elections, Dr. Rottinghaus charts the pathology of the Latino vote in Texas and discusses how these trends dramatically shape Texas’ political future.

This class will be held onsite at WIH and simulcast via Zoom.
