Laura Bland, Ph.D.




Laura Bland, Ph.D., is a professor in the Honors College at the University of Houston. Before joining the Honors College’s Medicine and Society faculty in 2017, she taught history of science at the University of Notre Dame, where she earned her Ph.D. in the History and Philosophy of Science. She specializes in the history of science and religion and the cultural history of gynecology and reproduction. She has received several teaching awards, including the Matthew B. and Tamara Steele Award for Teaching Excellence and the Vince and Louise Foster Teaching Excellence Award.
