Brandon Rottinghaus, Ph.D.




Brandon Rottinghaus is a Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Houston where he has taught since 2007. Professor Rottinghaus grew up in Plano, Texas and holds a Ph.D. in political science from Northwestern University. His academic interests include the American presidency, Texas politics, public opinion (especially misinformation and conspiracy theories), political scandal, and Latino politics. He is the author of several books, dozens of academic journals, and an editor and contributor to multiple edited volumes. Professor Rottinghaus has consulted on a dozen campaigns and collaborated on several state and nation-wide opinion polls. Most recently he is the author of the books Inside Texas Politics, Current Debates in the Lone Star State, and Inside American Government (all Oxford University Press). He is the co-host of Party Politics, a radio program and podcast on Houston Public Media.
