Hank Roubicek, Ph.D.




Dr. Hank Roubicek is Professor Emeritus of Communication Studies at the University of Houston Downtown. He is an award-winning educator and consultant, included several times in Who’s Who Among American College Teachers, founder and lead host of So, What’s Your Story? on Houston’s KPFT 90.1 FM, host of the podcast The Story Voice, and author of several books including So, What’s Your Story: Discovering the Story in You; and contributor to Studies in Mythology published by Oxford Press. His groundbreaking research in narrative expression has made him an internationally sought-after speaker and workshop facilitator. He is a contributor to Houston Matters, a Houston Moth storytelling champion, member of the National Storytelling Network, a board member of the Tejas Storytelling Association, and president of the Houston Storytellers Guild. He is the recipient of the prestigious “Trailblazers” award issued by Tejas for pioneering storytelling in the Houston area. “Dr. R,” as he is affectionately called by students, is a community activist and a passionate advocate for tolerance education and veteran docent at Holocaust Museum Houston. Hank is husband to Peggy, grandpa to Jack, Tucker, and Tatum, and doggy daddy to Simon.
