To conclude Dr. Giacchetti’s French Gastronomy course, we are delighted to present a screening of the Academy Award–winning Danish film Babette’s Feast (1987). Adapted from a story by Isak Dinesen and celebrated as “the ultimate film about food,” Babette’s Feast follows a French housekeeper with a mysterious past who transforms the lives of a strict, late–nineteenth-century Danish community through one extraordinary meal. The screening will be preceded by a brief presentation on Babette’s remarkable menu.
