Israel and Palestine: An In-depth Update

Chris Schaefer

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to destroy the Hamas terrorist organization and to prevent any repeat of the horrible attack against Israelis that occurred last October 7. Almost five months later Gaza is in shambles but analysts say that only 20% of Hamas' fighters have been killed. Meanwhile, Benjamin Netanyahu's standing in Israeli polls dropped to an all-time low while much of the world recoiled in horror at the more than 25,000 Palestinians killed so far.

Where does this war against Hamas stand? How has Hamas held out against the powerful Israeli military? How, and when, is this likely to end? Come join us on Tuesday, March 19, for an in-depth review of the tangled web of Israeli politics, Hamas intransigence, and the far-right-wing religious pressures on both sides that are driving Israeli and Palestinian politics today.
