Bridget Fernandes is an anthropologist, lecturer, photographer, traveler, and artist. Originally from Tennessee, she spent five years teaching English as a Second Language in Brazil and eight years facilitating courses at a men’s prison through the University of Houston at Clear Lake. Since 2011, she has been teaching anthropology and women’s studies courses at the University of Houston, with a focus on how people empower themselves to create social change. She holds a BA in English Literature from Union University (1999) and an MA in Cross-Cultural Studies from the University of Houston Clear Lake (2011). Bridget believes in fostering true learning through open dialogue.
