Marcela Salas, Ph.D.

Marcela Salas, Ph.D., is a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina. She earned an M.A. from Rice University and a Ph.D. from the University of Houston in Latin American Literature. She taught Spanish Language Courses at Rice University as a Senior Lecturer for over 20 years, as well as at the University of Houston, the University of St. Thomas, and a number of institutes in Buenos Aires. Marcela has served as artistic director of Gente de Teatro, a Spanish language theater group whose main purpose is to facilitate cultural understanding in the community, since its inception in 1995.
