Conversational French: Intermediate | Spring 2026

Isabelle Perreau

This course will be a continuation of “Beginning French” classes. This is a partial immersion class (taught both in French with a native speaker and in English) with the goal of getting you comfortable speaking French as quickly as possible. Many people find that even if they have taken French language classes in the past, they did very little speaking. In our classes, you will cover the four elements of learning a language successfully: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

The teaching method used is based on the “communicative approach.” This method is well-rounded with exposure to reading, writing, and grammar, but the primary focus is placed on oral communication. Information on the textbook utilized for this course will be given during the first class meeting. This is a limited enrollment class.

If you need guidance in finding your appropriate level, use this link to access our guide. You can also audit the first class in a course to see if it is the right fit for you.
